Everton are reaching out to a number of transfer targets this summer.

David Moyes is set to lead a major squad overhaul and has been identifying a number of targets with his recruitment team.

It looks as though Everton have settled on Thierno Barry to be their striker next season, so now it’s a case of convincing him to make the switch to Merseyside.

The Friedkin Group are ready to meet Barry’s £33m release clause, so it appears it all rests on agreeing personal terms.

Jack Grealish has also been linked to the Toffees, but that deal will be a lot tougher to complete given his substantial wages at Manchester City.

Now, there’s been a fresh transfer rumour and Everton fans are so excited.

Everton fans so excited after hearing David Moyes wants to sign Geny Catamo

Everton are interested in signing Sporting winger Geny Catamo this summer transfer window and fans have had a lot to say about the rumour on X, formerly known as Twitter.

@howardskendolls posted: “We’re actually linked with a lot of exciting players. Just hope we can get enough over the line. Be a really exciting season if so.”

“Lots of potential, would be surprised if they let him go though,” @NostradamusDom commented.

“Kids electric a yes from me,” @don836787988830 said.

@0ptimumvelocity added: “Yes PLEASE.”

“Wouldn’t be mad, tidy little player,” @AdamWEFC said.

@Stotty101_: isn’t totally convinced: “Looks ok. Still think we should be looking at better players though. Would only spend 10/15m max on him.”

Geny Catamo stats 2024/25

Catamo, who is a Mozambique international, primarily operated as a right winger, allowing him to cut in on his favoured left foot.

The 24-year-old enjoyed a productive campaign for the Portuguese champions last season, registering 12 goal contributions.

Catamo’s form has reportedly alerted Premier League rivals Arsenal and Newcastle United, who will clearly be better-placed to land his signature.

The 28-cap international has a £51m release clause and Sporting are reluctant to sanction his sale, so it won’t be an easy deal to complete.
