Lucas Digne has responded to Ashley Young ahead of his move to Everton.
The Toffees’ new signing took to Instagram to say farewell to Aston Villa fans, with Digne being one of the first to comment on the post with three blue hearts.
Fabrizio Romano has reported that Everton will confirm Young’s arrival on a short term deal, having signed all documents on Tuesday.
The 38-year-old left Villa Park upon the end of his contract this summer and is set for a swift return to Premier League football with Digne’s former club.

The Frenchman linked up with Young when he left Goodison Park for the Midlands in January 2022, however his time at the club hasn’t gone as well as expected.
Digne only started 18 matches in the Premier League last season, while Young found himself in Aston Villa’s defence more regularly after exceeding expectations in his two-year stint.

The veteran defender will be eager to challenge for a place in Everton’s starting line-up and will provide solid competition for the likes of Vitalii Mykolenko and Nathan Patterson.
Everton are yet to replace Lucas Digne
Lucas Digne’s departure came as a huge disappoint to fans after he fell out of favour under Rafa Benitez. The 29-year-old was one of the Toffees’ best defenders and could have still been on Merseyside if it wasn’t for the Spaniard.
It seems unlikely that Ashley Young will be the man to fill Digne’s boots at Goodison Park, though Sean Dyche will be hoping Mykolenko can learn a thing or two off the full-back and eventually reach the levels that were expected of him when he joined from Dynamo Kyiv.

The 24-year-old will be eager to have a much better season this time round and can be forgiven for his struggles as his home country remains at war with Ukraine.
Young will hoping he can be a huge influence in the dressing room and hopefully he can give the likes of Mykolenko, Patterson and Jarrad Branthwaite a helping hand.
