Everton have been able to boast some high profile players over the years, but there is one manager who is being hailed as special.
David Moyes has returned to Merseyside and steered Everton back onto the tracks as the club finally show signs of stability.
Under the 62-year-old Everton want to push for European qualification, which has evaded them for years now.
Luka Modric is a player who knows something about playing European football having won the Champions League six times with Real Madrid.
| Position | Team | Played MP | Won W | Drawn D | Lost L | For GF | Against GA | Diff GD | Points Pts |
| 8 | 16 | 7 | 5 | 4 | 19 | 17 | 2 | 26 | |

Everton are currently four points off the top four in the Premier League and face a difficult run with Moyes struggling through injuries.
Although the Scot has done a sensational job on Merseyside, Modric thinks there’s another former Everton manager who is just incredible.

Luka Modric adores ‘very special’ former Everton manager
Everton left a lasting impression on Carlo Ancelotti as he still speaks about the Toffees even to this day.
The Italian is currently managing the Brazil national side as the summer World Cup now lies just around the corner.
Speaking on the (Ne)uspjeh prvaka YouTube channel, Modric waxed lyrical about Ancelotti following their time together in the Spanish capital.
“With Carlo, that first spell was incredible. When we won La Decima, the Copa del Rey, and later when he came back, we won two more Champions Leagues. We also won La Liga twice,” said the Croatian.
“He’s a very special person. As a man and as a coach, he is extraordinary.”
Ironically, Modric’s former midfield partner Toni Kroos also named Ancelotti as the best manager he has ever played under.
With two absolute powerhouses of European football singing the praise of Ancelotti, it just goes to show how fortunate Everton were to have him on Merseyside for the short period of time.
Carlo Ancelotti loved working alongside Duncan Ferguson
It may well be an unlikely pairing, but Ancelotti loved working with Duncan Ferguson, who certainly will have taught him the values of being an honorary Evertonian.
The Scot still keeps in touch with the Italian to this day and visited Ancelotti when he left Goodison Park for the Santiago Bernabeu.
Just how far could Carlo Ancelotti have taken Everton if he stuck around? 😫
Ancelotti admitted he could not reject Real Madrid for Everton, but the 66-year-old has always only had positive things to say about Everton since he did depart.
It may have only been short-lived but Everton fans will still feel fortunate to have experienced Ancelotti on Merseyside.
