Everton suffered a 2-0 defeat to Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

David Moyes’ side gave a good account of themselves, but ultimately, the Premier League’s top scorer Erling Haaland bagged a brace to take the three points.

Everton still remain in the top half of the table and there were certainly plenty of positives to take from the performance.

In fact, Manchester City supporters were actually full of praise for one Toffees star who they reckon was Man of the Match.

Man City fans in awe of Everton star Iliman Ndiaye

Man City fans took to X, formerly known as Twitter, after the game and heaped praise on Everton’s wide player Iliman Ndiaye.

@Londonblue_2 posted: “By the way, I have to be fair that Ndiaye guy from Everton played really well today. Top player imo.”

Ndiaye would be on my shopping list…My MOM today,” @kunsbannedhair added.

“Iliman Ndiaye is who Gibbs-White and Paqueta think they are, what a baller,” @_dionysiuss_ commented.

@mancityneil said: “Iliman Ndiaye would be the perfect replacement for Bernardo. I’m calling it now.”

Pat Nevin couldn’t take his eye off Iliman Ndiaye

Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live, Pat Nevin explained that Ndiaye is one of those players that you just can’t take your eye off.

“We’ve had chances either side, most of them to Man City, but Everton will be pleased, some very good play from them,” Nevin said.

“You can’t take your eyes off Ndiaye. He is one of those players, if you are not supporting either team, you are thinking – ‘Can I see him on the ball again, please?’

The Senegal international has really stepped up a level this year and it’s clear that behind the scenes, he’s constantly looking to improve his game.

Ndiaye admitted earlier this month that he’s been working with the analysts at Finch Farm to better himself as a right winger.
