It has been quite exhausting, having to watch Everton be so ruthlessly dismissive amidst widespread interest in their star assets.
However, whilst it is frustrating to see bigger clubs seek to bully those below them into major sales, the fact that Kevin Thelwell has thus far stood firm is so refreshing.
Jarrad Branthwaite remains at Goodison Park, and so too do Amadou Onana and Jordan Pickford.
The same might not be said for their other most sellable asset in the coming weeks though…
Manchester United now want another Everton star
Despite Manchester United’s interest in Jarrad Branthwaite, with a new bid having been lodged just last night, this latest update regards another of Sean Dyche’s players being linked with a switch to Old Trafford.
And whilst negotiations are far from ongoing, talks have taken place which could set the wheels in motion.

The report, via The Athletic, reads: ‘Internally, talks have taken place about Ivan Toney and Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who each have one year remaining on their contracts. Both have indicated they will not be signing fresh terms at their clubs and are looking to move.
‘Brentford are thought to want £60m for Toney, 28, but some believe they might accept a figure closer to £40m. Everton’s financial situation means they are open to selling Calvert-Lewin, 27, this summer rather than risk him leaving for free in 2025. A deal around the £30m mark is viewed as plausible.
‘Calvert-Lewin’s injury record is a consideration, but United figures have noted he featured in 38 games last season, playing 18 more minutes than Hojlund in the Premier League overall, and scored seven goals.’
Simon Jordan hinted Everton should have snatched £40m from Newcastle United back when they were showing interest in the striker.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin would be a big miss
To lose Branthwaite would mark a blow to their backline, but to go without Dominic Calvert-Lewin would be particularly catastrophic.
After all, it is hard to quantify just how important the 27-year-old actually is for Dyche’s system, as a marksman who not only is great in the air, but he is also fast and a willing runner too.
He boasts the perfect physical stature for success, and does know where the net is too even if he struggled at times in the Premier League last season.
The fact that Beto barely got a look in throughout the most recent campaign was indicative of just how much trust Dyche has in Calvert-Lewin.

To lose him to the Red Devils, or anyone for that matter, would be a huge disappointment.
But, with his contract winding down, it might mark a necessary evil.
