Everton must quickly put behind the disappointments of the defeat to West Ham United on the weekend as they prepare to face Manchester United at Old Trafford on Saturday.

Sean Dyche‘s side fell to a 3-1 defeat to The Hammers, having led through Beto, leaving them firmly in the relegation battle with 11 games of the season remaining.

The Toffees boss must regroup his side and turn his focus towards the next game, where they face a United side stricken by injuries.

Dyche will be desperate to gain a positive result in the final game before the international break, which will curtail action until the 30th of March when they make the trip to the south coast to face Bournemouth.

Manchester United suffer injury crisis ahead of Everton clash

Erik ten Hag could be without six players against The Toffees this weekend.

Rasmus Hojlund, who has been in fine goalscoring form of late, is expected to be absent. “It’s a small injury, two or three weeks. It’s a risk in high-intensity training,” the United boss said.

Luke Shaw hasn’t featured in the last two matches after going off injured against Luton Town and isn’t anticipated to return in time for the weekend. The England international sustained a muscle injury and looks set to be out for an ‘extended period’.

Meanwhile, Lisandro Martinez isn’t due back until next month, Mason Mount is training but there is no timeline for his recovery and Anthony Martial continues to recover from surgery on his groin.

Tyrell Malacia hasn’t appeared all season, so it seems he’ll also be out for the weekend.

With that said, Everton also have injury problems of their own.

Manchester United aren’t alone in their injury problems, as Dyche, too, has fitness issues to contend with.

Idrissa Gueye will miss Saturday’s clash due to a groin injury, which put him out of action for the defeat against West Ham.

Amadou Onana’s return was a big boost, however, and he is expected to partner James Garner in midfield.

Arnaut Danjuma has also been ruled out for the weekend, though, speaking in last week’s press conference, Dyche confirmed that he is progressing well in his recovery. “Arnie (Danjuma) is doing well with his ankle but it’s obviously a longer-term situation. He’s doing really well. I just spoke to him before I came in and he’s in a good place, it’s going well.”
