Everton have had their issues up front over recent years, but Thierno Barry was finally able to get off the mark at the weekend.
The Toffees may still look to add to their options at striker in the January transfer window and one former Everton striker could be set for a shock return to the Premier League.
After 17 games across all competitions, Barry broke his deadlock against Nottingham Forest on Saturday afternoon.
Everton News understands that Everton will look to sign a striker in January to bolster their options having seen Barry and Beto struggle for most of the term.
It will have to be an opportunistic buy for David Moyes’ side, with the January window notoriously difficult to deal in.
However, there could be a reunion for former Everton manager Marco Silva and a striker who failed to impress on Merseyside.

Marco Silva eyeing reunion with Everton flop Moise Kean
Over the summer, Moise Kean was linked with a move to Manchester United among other clubs as his time in Italy appeared to be up.
The striker did remain with Fiorentina, but Kean is now being linked with another return to England.
According to the Daily Mail, Fulham are ready to reignite their interest in the 25-year-old striker in the January window.
Where does Moise Kean rank among the worst Everton strikers you’ve seen? 🫣
The Italian has endured his own struggles in Serie A this season on the back of an impressive 2024/25 campaign.
A possible move to Fulham would see Kean reunite with Silva, who managed the striker briefly during his time at Goodison Park.
Duncan Ferguson infamously substituted Kean just minutes after bringing him on during a trip to Old Trafford as interim manager.
If Kean does return to the Premier League, he would certainly have a lot of doubters to prove wrong.
Moise Kean struggled in the Premier League
Across his 39 appearances for Everton, Kean was only able to return a mere four goals and two assists before finally returning to Italy.
On the back of his 2024/25 campaign, Barcelona showed interest in Kean, but he has struggled to hit those heights again this season.
Why do you think Moise Kean struggled so much at Everton? 😫
His Serie A campaign has been hugely disappointing and would really put some pressure on Silva if he was to sign him for Fulham and it did not work out.
The stats are there in black and white for the Fulham manager, who is also in need of a striker he can rely on.
It would certainly be a big gamble to think Kean could be that player.
