Marco Silva‘s honest response when asked about his time as Everton boss

Everton will be looking to make it two wins from two after returning from the international break last weekend.

Sean Dyche‘s side cruised to three points on the weekend in their trip down to Suffolk to face Ipswich Town at Portman Road.

The Toffees return to Goodison Park this weekend where they will be coming up against a Fulham side who only sit three points ahead in the table.

Roy Keane has claimed teams will see Everton as a winnable fixture but Dyche’s side continue on their run of four Premier League games unbeaten.

But they will be coming up against a familiar face this weekend when former manager Marco Silva makes his return to Everton with his current side, Fulham.

What Marco Silva said about returning to Everton

Everton have now taken four points from their last two home games which has helped provide a platform for their improved form.

But they are coming up against a Fulham side who will be desperate to put three points on the board after back to back defeats.

Speaking ahead of the game on Saturday, Silva has admitted he is looking forward to visiting Goodison Park one final time.

“It was an honour for me to be Everton manager. It’s going to be my last game at Goodison. It’s a special place,” he told the media.

“But it’s a football match, nothing more. I’m managing Fulham and I want to win the game.”

Everton can’t make room for any sentiment

Clearly, Saturday’s visit to Goodison is going to mean a lot to Silva as he will be experiencing his final game ever at Goodison.

But the Toffees cannot afford sentiment to get in the way of the task at hand with three big points at stake.

Everton have been able to pull five points clear of the bottom three but a loss on the weekend could see that cushion taken away from them.

With some really difficult fixtures coming up over December, it is time for Everton to get their heads down and get some points on the board.
