Martin Sherif stars for Port Vale after joining on loan from Everton

Everton sent Martin Sherif on loan to Port Vale until the end of the season.

After having his Rotherham loan cut short, Everton moved quickly to find him another League One loan in the winter transfer window.

Port Vale are expected to get relegated to League Two, as they reside at the bottom of the table, but it’ll be a valuable experience for Sherif.

Sherif is highly-rated by coaches around Finch Farm, so they’ll be watching his loan very closely over the next few months.

With that said, the 19-year-old made his second appearance for Port Vale on Saturday.

Everton loanee Martin Sherif scores vs Reading

Sherif made his second appearance for The Valiants yesterday, as he came off the bench just after the hour mark.

The 2006-born made a really positive impact against Reading, netting a 96th-minute equaliser at Vale Park.

According to Sofascore, Sherif was the second-highest rated player for the League One outfit, so he’ll certainly be in line to start the next game.

It has been speculated that Sherif could be promoted to David Moyes’ first-team squad over the last couple of years, so this loan will probably be quite defining.

Injuries have been his main issue, and that was certainly a big factor in why his Rotherham loan ended.

Upon signing Sherif earlier this month, Port Vale manager Jon Brady explained the Toffees striker has bags of potential.

“We’re really pleased to welcome Martin to the club”, Brady told Port Vale’s website.

“He’s a young, hungry forward with plenty of potential, who will offer us a real presence in the forward line during the second half of the season.”

Surely some of these players can do better than Beto and Dwight McNeil! 😡

Sherif is back in action on Tuesday night, as Port Vale take on Northampton Town at the Sixfields Stadium.
