Everton have been drawing up a list of centre-back targets in recent weeks.

It has been reported that Everton are targeting John Stones ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Manchester City star is out of contract at the end of the season, so David Moyes is showing an interest in landing his signature on a free transfer.

Bournemouth’s Marcos Senesi is also being linked to the Hill Dickinson Stadium as his deal comes to an end.

Which of these players do you want to see Everton SIGN in 2026?

Mario Gila is another Toffees target, and he could be available for just £5m, with his Lazio contract running out next year.

Gila’s manager Maurizio Sarri, who was previously Chelsea boss, is a big fan of the 25-year-old.

Maurizio Sarri labels Everton target Mario Gila as ‘extraordinary’

Speaking earlier this year, Sarri described Everton target Mario Gila as an ‘extraordinary’ defender, although he noted that he needs a leader next to him.

“Mario Gila is an extraordinary player with still so much room to grow,” the Italian manager stated.

“But he’s also lucky that Alessio Romagnoli plays next to him who can really lead a backline.”

Would you be happy with this potential transfer Toffees fans? 🤔

Everton target Crysencio Summerville.

Sarri clearly feels the former Real Madrid youngster still has areas of his game that need developing, and he requires an experienced partner to cover those flaws.

That may be somewhat alarming to Moyes, as surely he’s recruiting for a centre-back to play alongside Jarrad Branthwaite, who is also still learning his trade.

Perhaps it’d be sensible to decide against pursuing a deal for Gila, and instead look to sign a 28 or 29-year-old.

Evidently, Moyes is keen to recruit someone with European experience, with the Toffees aiming to qualify for Conference League football this season.
