Everton’s Yerry Mina opened the scoring as Colombia earned a 3-0 away win over Peru in World Cup qualifying.

Mina reacted quickest as the ball dropped in the penalty area after a free kick from out wide.

Mateus Uribe and Luiz Diaz completed the scoring early in the second half to seal the victory.

Daniel Munoz’s 59th minute red card made the task a bit harder but the backline containing Mina held out for a clean sheet.

International duty provides an opportunity for Everton’s players.

A chance to forget about the poor end to the season which led to the Toffees missing out on European football altogether.

Also, an opportunity to focus on football amid the uncertainty at club level regarding who the club’s new manager will be.

Busy summer for Mina
