With Everton’s Premier League season over and done with, Kevin Thelwell now has the summer to seek stability after avoiding the drop with ease.
It marked one of the more comfortable campaigns in recent years despite PSR troubles and takeover unrest, given they escaped relegation by 14 points in the end. Were it not for their two deductions too, that figure would have been a lofty 22.
In fact, the Toffees even ended the Premier League season above Brentford despite how Thomas Frank’s side performed during the 2022/23 campaign, earning plaudits for their ninth-placed finish.
The Bees were hamstrung by Ivan Toney’s absence, and opted for Everton’s Neal Maupay as a temporary fix, swooping for the out-of-favour man on loan.
And despite his clear disagreements whilst at Goodison Park, the Frenchman has just made a tweet that suggests he still favours a return under their manager.
Neal Maupay thinks Sean Dyche will shine for Everton next season
Taking to X, where the 27-year-old so often does his best work, Maupay would get involved in a jovial debate happening across ‘Football Twitter’.
It would be expected that, due to Sean Dyche’s rather strict system that relies on a powerful striker, the former Brighton and Hove Albion man might be unwanted at Everton.
After all, he was rather swiftly shipped out last summer, and since then two hulking forwards have come in to back up Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
Maupay’s chances will almost certainly be limited, yet he holds no animosity towards the former Burnley boss.
In fact, he is even backing him to outperform Pep Guardiola, as he attached a video of Dyche in response to the question: ‘Which of these bald managers will be most successful next season?’
A real show of faith from his striker…
Neal Maupay is hilarious on social media
For all the frustrations over his conduct at times, few can deny how hilarious this man is.
And when he’s on your side, that is made even more so.
He fits into the calibre of player, similar to Richarlison, Andy Robertson and Bruno Fernandes, who is often disliked by the masses but adored by his team.
That has not always been the case since he joined in 2022, with Maupay blaming Everton fans for his poor form, but he clearly has no ill feelings towards the club.

It is unlikely that he will return to play under Dyche due to the stark differences between how they play, but this marks a funny show of respect to end their relationship.
This marks one of just many comments he has made over the years on X which are undeniably hilarious.
