Sporting CP forward Youssef Chermiti has now moved a step closer to making a summer switch to Everton.

Indeed, the 19-year-old is ‘on his way’ to his medical ahead of becoming Sean Dyche’s third signing of the summer for the Toffees.

That is according to journalist Fabrizio Romano, who reported via Twitter that while the contracts have not yet been signed, they are ‘being prepared’.

Romano tweeted: “Chermiti, on his way for medical tests as new Everton player after agreement on all details for personal terms.

Documents not signed yet but being prepared now on both player and clubs side with Sporting.

Exclusive story confirmed.”

Chermiti finally looks to be on his way as Everton and player agree personal terms

With the Toffees’ Premier League opener against Fulham now less than a week away, the arrival of another attacker will no doubt be welcome news for Everton fans.

Youssef Chermiti may be raw but has bags of potential and it will be interesting to see how the teenager develops at Goodison Park.

Sporting CP have produced some top talents over the years, many of whom have gone on to become some of the best players in the Premier League.

Making his breakthrough season in Portugal last term, Chermiti bagged three goals in 16 outings, and with an imposing build of 6ft 4ins, the young man could be tailor made for Sean Dyche’s side.

With a reported fee of £12m expected to be agreed between the two sides, Chermiti could be an excellent addition to Everton’s squad, with a high ceiling in regards to future resale value.

Recruiting prodigious young talents as a transfer strategy has worked in recent seasons for the likes of Brentford and Brighton & Hove Albion, and the Blues could start to rebuild with a similar approach to the transfer window.
