The life of a professional footballer is one of glitz and glamour; £100,000-a-week has to be spent on something.

Fans see what happens for 90 minutes on the pitch; these stars are just regular people for most of their working week.

Families, wives, kids, and school are all considerations that Premier League footballers factor into their lives.

In an exclusive behind-the-scenes glance at what goes on behind the scenes, Amazon’s ‘Married to the Game’ has given the average fan insight into what it’s like to be married to a Premier League star.

Fortunately, or somewhat unfortunately, Everton star James Tarkowski has been the subject of some interesting viewing.

The former Burnley man has shown his romantic side alongside his wife Samantha.

Unfortunately for Tarkowski, the football world hasn’t let his antics go unnoticed.

Peter Crouch reacts to Everton’ thick’ skinned Everton star

Peter Crouch – known for his comedic side – has been dissecting the Everton man’s Amazon appearance on his latest podcast episode.

Talking on the Peter Crouch Podcast, the former Liverpool man and Steve Sidwell discussed the series.

Sidwell said: “He’s got to be getting stick for that. Surely he’s got to be going in the next day.”

Crouch replied: “I don’t know how you get through that, you have got to have some thick skin there.”

How long has James Tarkowski been with his partner?

It’s clear that the Tarkowskis are a reasonably strong couple; otherwise, they wouldn’t have let the cameras infiltrate their home for a knock-off Amazon series.

According to the Daily Mail, the pair have been dating since 2015 and married in mid-2023. Samantha has followed the Everton star to his last three clubs.

Tarkowski said about his wife: “I don’t think Sam realises how amazing she is both physically and internally.

“I think she’s opened her eyes a bit more to it over the years but I think initially when we first met she had no self love or self worth but over time she’s realising more and more.”

On a personal level, the defender’s been having a good season. He’s formed a superb partnership with Jarrad Branthwaite and can perhaps consider himself somewhat unfortunate to have been called up to Gareth Southgate’s England squad.
