Everton have really high hopes for teenage midfielder Harrison Armstrong.

David Moyes was happy to keep Harrison Armstrong in his first-team squad this season, but the decision was made to send him out on loan to accelerate his development.

Moyes and his chiefs sanctioned his loan move to Championship outfit Preston North End, and he made his second start against Charlton Athletic yesterday.

The 18-year-old Everton loanee played the full 90 minutes, and here is what Preston supporters had to say about his performance.

Preston fans react to Harrison Armstrong’s display vs Charlton

Preston fans swarmed to X, formerly known as Twitter, to react to Armstrong’s performance against Charlton at Deepdale yesterday.

It’s fair to say they were impressed.

“Harrison Armstrong will not be at Preston or Everton for long… proper player can pass, tackle, looks after the ball…. 18 and 2nd start MOTM twice for me! Going to be some boy,” @Dougiepnefc posted.

@catterallwhite added: “Harrison Armstrong gets everywhere without anyone noticing. Never gives the ball away. Devine, Dobbin & Armstrong are as good as anyone in this league. No one expected us to have the points and performances we have had so far. Delighted.”

“Armstrong some baller the pockets of space he picks up super intelligent,” @the_real_mr_tea said.

@liamfell2010 commented: “Armstrong is going to be a very good player.”

Harrison Armstrong’s stats vs Charlton

Armstrong’s Sofascore statistics evince what a well-rounded performance it was, as he was neat on the ball whilst conducting his defensive duties really well.

Manager Paul Heckingbottom was clearly impressed, as he left the all-action midfielder on the pitch for the full 90, whilst other experienced players came off.

After a fairly slow start to his career in Lancashire, it looks as though the teenager has now staked his claim to become a regular starter.

Armstrong will now head away on international duty with England’s under-21s.
