Pundits baffled after what the Premier League are doing to Everton now

Everton are still waiting for the Premier League’s independent commission to conjure up their ruling regarding the ongoing appeal.

It is a process that, much like 777 Partners’ takeover, has dragged on for far too long. And yet, those making the decisions are unbothered, seemingly in no real rush to publish a verdict that could have catastrophic repercussions for the long-term security of this infamous institution.

The manner in which the Toffees have been treated, a founding side of both the original first division and the Premier League all those years ago, has been disgraceful.

And now, pundits Robbie Mustoe and Robbie Earle have sought to combine their influence to lobby against the English top flight.

What Robbie Mustoe and Robbie Earle said about Everton

Speaking on their podcast for NBC, The 2 Robbies, they were both left furious as they brushed over Everton’s issues at the back end of their chat.

Having unsurprisingly seen the runtime dominated by the EFL Cup Final and wins for Manchester City and Arsenal, the Toffees’ trip to Brighton and Hove Albion was an afterthought.

This alone acts as a glaring indicator of just how troublesome the lack of decisiveness is proving to be, relegating football behind the off-pitch issues.

Earle was the first to issue his claim noting: ‘I see Sean Dyche, it might have been before the game Rob I was reading the news and stuff… when are we going to find out about our appeal, and he’s right. What are they doing? Why are they taking so long?’

Mustoe then chimed in, stating: ‘Come on Premier League get on with it!’

He then continued: ‘You kind of feel like if the Premier League have gone down this route, they’ve got to have the timespan to get this thing over and done with and give Everton a chance.

‘If you’re going to take the points take the points, at least give them a chance so we know where we are. The longer you leave it… We await the next week or two when something will be said.’

A Premier League decision in the next few days…

Well, we are still yet to hear anything from the Premier League, despite having first been told to expect a decision by mid-February, then seeing that notion pushed back to after the clash with Crystal Palace, before finally settling on a conclusion to be reached before the end of February.

Well, that is fast approaching, with less than four days for the independent commission to publish its ruling.

Realistically, given it is over three weeks since the three-day trial concluded, they must have their final decision by now…

So what is the hold-up? Why are they refusing to release such integral information? By gatekeeping such a vital piece of knowledge they are not only affecting Everton, but every other side involved in the relegation scrap too.

It is dangerous and unruly from the Premier League, but not really surprising anymore.
