Rangers sacked manager Russell Martin after being held to a 1-1 draw by Falkirk on Sunday.

Rangers fans have been protesting against Russell Martin for weeks, with his side winning just one league game in seven.

The Scottish giants put out a statement late last night, which partly read: “RANGERS Football Club confirms that it has parted company with Head Coach, Russell Martin. While all transition periods require some time, results have not met the club’s expectations.”

Supporters have taken to X, formerly known as Twitter, to voice their opinions on who should replace Martin.

And, a lot of them are picking a former Everton manager to take over.

Rangers fans want former Everton manager to replace Russell Martin

A large section of Rangers fans are urging the club to try and appoint former Everton and now Coventry City manager Frank Lampard.

“That’s that then. Go and get Frank Lampard it’s time, we should have taken Mr Souness’s advice when it was given,” @MundayHugh posted.

@DavidField87 added: “Surely you’ve got to ask Coventry the requirements to do a deal for Lampard! Souness said it before Clement he was the right guy!”

“Get down to Coventry pay the COMPO and beg Frank Lampard for forgiveness for knocking him back twice,” @Bigeegy commented.

“Go for Lampard loves the gers and he knows what it’s all about, he could get Gerrard in as his right-hand man and for once they’d work well together and get the greatest club in the world right on top,” @garnsey2 explained.

@leopold410457 said: “Head hunt and pay compensation for Frank Lampard who is proving to be a very good manager with a smaller budget and when giving kids a chance.”

“Go get Lampard,” @Driz_04 simply said.

Some Rangers fans want Sean Dyche

Some Rangers supporters are keen for another former Everton manager Sean Dyche to get the job.

“For me it has to be someone like Sean Dyche. I can definitely see the arguments against but we need IMO someone who can come in & firstly make us a difficult team to play against and then build from there. I couldn’t care less if we stink Ibrox out & win 1-0 every time,” @cozy1872 posted.

@curtiswoodhous8 added: “I’d probably lean towards Dyche, I think he will bring stability and a foundation to grow from. The board can’t afford to c— this one up. I think Dyche is the man for the job.”

Dyche has been out of work since leaving the Toffees in January and has been linked to a number of Championship clubs.

Dyche was interviewed by Leicester City in the summer.
