Carlo Ancelotti talked up Ben Godfrey’s England chances ahead of Everton’s clash with West Brom.
Ancelotti was asked about Godfrey at his pre-match press conference before the trip to the Hawthorns.
If he plays against Sam Allardyce’s men it would be a 17th Premier League appearance in 18 matches for the former Norwich man.
And Ancelotti spoke highly of the defender, who has played in both full-back roles this season.

“Who is not impressed by Ben Godfrey?” said Ancelotti when it was put to him that Gareth Southgate has been impressed by the defender.
“He is doing really well, we are really pleased and really happy to have him.

England aren’t exactly blessed with elite central defenders at this moment in time.
Perhaps Michael Keane is ahead of Godfrey in the pecking order because he’s been part of many of Southgate’s squads before.
But Godfrey shouldn’t be ruled out and Southgate may want a look at him ahead of the rearranged Euro 2020 in the summer.
