Everton will look to revisit a move for Wilfried Gnonto.
That’s according to Football Transfers, who have reported that the Toffees will reignite their interest in the Leeds United winger as they look to bolster their attack.
Gnonto enjoyed a brilliant breakthrough campaign with Leeds last season, with Ashley Young previously impressed by his ‘good battle’ with the teenager during his time at Aston Villa.
The Toffees have been heavily linked with a move for Gnonto since the Whites were relegated to the Championship, while reports had also claimed they had had a £15 million bid rejected last month.

While Everton’s interest never faltered, it was more recently believed that the teenager had decided against a move to Goodison Park and could instead stay at Elland Road this season.
Despite failing to agree a fee during their previous pursuit of Gnonto, Everton could now make a second move for the Italian.

This comes despite reports that Sean Dyche’s side have already begun negotiations for Paris Saint Germain’s Hugo Ekitike, while they have also been linked with Kamaldeen Sulemana. However, it is now believed that the Toffees will look at the latter if they are unable to capture Gnonto at the second attempt.
Wilfried Gnonto would still be an excellent signing for Everton – but what has changed?
Everton fans were very excited when the club began to step up their interest in Wilfried Gnonto over the past couple of months, however the move looked almost dead in the water when it emerged that he didn’t even want to join.

However, it has only taken a couple of weeks for the Toffees to revisit their interest and could now land the 19-year-old on their second attempt.
Though it does raise the question as to what has changed – why would Gnonto want to complete the move now? Perhaps it was the sudden realisation that Leeds United might not actually get automatically promoted after their draw with Cardiff City at the weekend.
