Tete has been offered to four clubs, with Everton not included.

That’s according to Sportitalia journalist Alfredo Pedulla, who has reported that the forward has offered himself to Al-Ittihad, Fenerbahce and two Italian clubs after he terminated his contract with Shakhtar Donetsk.

Tete spent the second half of last season on loan with Leicester City, where he enjoyed an ‘outstanding’ debut and netted his first goal for the club but failed to add to his tally before returning to Ukraine.

The ongoing war between Ukraine and Russia allowed Tete to cut ties with Shakhtar five months early, meaning he is now available on a free transfer.

Everton see the 23-year-old as an alternative to Wilfried Gnonto, who could now stay at Leeds United beyond the summer.

The Toffees showed interest in Tete prior to his move to the King Power Stadium and could now go back in for him, however they will face competition from a number of clubs.

The Sun have reported that Tete is also in talks with Napoli and Lazio, who could well be the two Italian sides that have been offered his services.

Everton could land their second free signing in Tete

Tete could become Everton’s second free agent signing this summer after they secured Ashley Young earlier this month.

The Brazilian could prove to be a huge bargain if he can emulate his form from his time with Lyon and Shakhtar, where he scored a total of 39 goals across four years.

Tete’s arrival would take the Toffees to three summer signings, with Arnaut Danjuma the only one with a price tag – which is ironic since he hasn’t even joined permanently.

Everton’s current financial struggles means the free agent market is their best friend. Should they choose to dip their toe in further, the likes of Adama Traore, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Ainsley Maitland-Niles are all without a club.
