Everton have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Iliman Ndiaye.

Football Insider have reported that Sheffield United are willing to listen to offers for the attacking midfielder this summer.

Ndiaye was sensational for the Blades as they won promotion back to the Premier League last season, claiming 14 goals and 10 assists as he was named as the club’s Player of the Year.

Sky Sports reported that the Toffees had had a £25 million bid rejected for the Senegal international during the January transfer window, however Paul Heckingbottom’s side are now considering cashing in on their star man.

Ndiaye only has 12 months left on his contract at Bramall Lane and is the subject of plenty of interest across Europe, with Newcastle United and West Ham also monitoring the player last season.

Everton will still have to fork out a hefty fee for the 23-year-old but United will be more willing to part ways, with the two parties still ‘some way off’ agreeing a new contract with the youngster.

The Blades could look to offload Ndiaye so they can bolster their squad following their promotion and the Toffees will be keen to take advantage of their financial situation.

Everton need to follow up with another bid for Iliman Ndiaye

Everton need to be quick to act on the news that Ndiaye could leave Bramall Lane this summer.

They will still have to cough up a eight-figure bid for his services but they may be able to snap him up for less than the £25m that was rejected only five months ago.

Ndiaye is highly regarded in Yorkshire and could definitely do a very good job in the Premier League, making his current situation a very intriguing proposition for Sean Dyche’s side.

Journalist Dean Jones has encouraged Everton to speed up their pursuit of the 23-year-old, labelling him as a ‘really exciting player to target’.
