Earlier this month, Everton were linked with a swoop for winger Silas Wamangituka by Eurosport.

It was claimed that the Toffees were among the clubs keen on the Stuttgart wideman.

He has an eye for goal, scoring 13 times in 27 games across all competitions this season.

But his impressive campaign is over due to a cruciate knee ligament injury picked up on Saturday, as per Kicker.

He sustained the injury during a first half challenge with David Alaba.

Stuttgart lost the game 4-0, despite facing a Bayern Munich side who went down to ten men early in the match.

It’s hugely disappointing for the winger, who would have been looking to finish the season strongly.

He could well have moved on after that – with a host of clubs apparently looking at him.

Now he is set for a period of months recovering and Everton will likely have to look elsewhere if they want a new wideman in the summer.
