Former Everton player Richarlison has sent a six-word message to Alex Iwobi via social media following last night’s 2-2 with Leicester City.

Iwobi’s second half strike last night earned Everton a valuable point on the road as the £35m player made amends for an error-strewn game.

Indeed, the Nigerian international cheaply conceded possession with the score level at 1-1, allowing the Foxes to break and take a 2-1 lead.

However, a smart second half finish from the 26-year-old restored parity and Everton returned to Merseyside with a point on the board.

Posting on his Instagram account, Iwobi acknowledged his mistakes and thanked the travelling Evertonians for their support, stating: “Errors Made But The Support Stayed, Appreciate The Love. We Go Again!”

Heading into the comments, former Everton star Richarlison responded to Iwobi’s post with a message of support for his ex-teammate. The Brazilian international commented: “Fighting every game and keep going.”

Everton have sorely missed Richarilson since his £60m move to Spurs last summer and it seems that the 25-year-old remains fond of the Toffees.

Richarlison advice for Iwobi must be taken by everyone at Everton

Indeed, Richarlison’s performances last season helped Everton stay in the Premier League especially when he scored a dramatic equaliser in the penultimate game of the season as Everton came from two goals down to beat Crystal Palace 3-2.

A fan favourite at Goodison, Richarlison was included on a banner made by Everton fans consisting of cult heroes, with the Brazilian alongside the likes of Leighton Baines and Duncan Ferguson.

The banner was unveiled ahead of Spurs’ visit to Goodison Park last month, with Richarlison taking to social media to thank the Everton fans who made it.

Hopefully Alex Iwobi will listen to Richarlison’s advice and ‘keep going’ with just four games remaining to secure Premier League football for Everton.
