Idrissa Gueye could move on from Everton this summer.
There is interest from Saudi Arabian club Al Ahli in veteran Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye this summer, according to Football Whispers. The report states that the Saudi Arabian outfit could be willing to pay €3 million for the 33-year-old, which would be roughly equivalent to £2.6 million. Whether that would be enough to tempt the Toffees into a sale remains to be seen.
This would likely be Everton’s last chance to cash in on Gueye, who they paid £2 million to PSG for last summer, to bring the midfielder back for his second spell at Goodison Park.
Gueye played regularly for the Merseyside outfit last season but wasn’t always the most impressive figure in the middle of the park. As long as Sean Dyche feels he has adequate depth to deal with Gueye’s departure, Everton ought to accept an offer from Al Ahli if one does indeed materialise.

The time has come to let Gueye go again
Age looked to have caught up with Gueye last season. The 102-cap Senegal international has previously been an excellent Premier League midfielder, but struggled to cope with the pace of the game in the middle of the park last time out. Whilst his experience will be missed at the club, the time has come for Everton to upgrade on the player.
Everton need to freshen up this summer in various parts of the pitch, including the midfield. Whilst he won’t generate huge funds, getting his £80,000-a-week wages off the books would be a smart move for the club to make.
Across his two spells with the club, Gueye has given Everton fans some great moments. He was awarded the club’s Players’ Player of the Year award in 2019, but he is no longer someone the Toffees can rely upon to take the club forward.
