Al Ettifaq boss Steven Gerrard is keen to sign Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

According to journalist Alan Nixon, writing on his Patreon page, Steven Gerrard is “ready to offer” Dominic Calvert-Lewin a route to Saudi Arabia.

Nixon claims that Al Ettifaq are planning to put a “lucrative” offer on the table for the 26-year-old in the upcoming January transfer window.

Everton are unlikely to want to part ways with Calvert-Lewin at this point. However, given the financial challenges currently facing the Merseyside club, they may find an astronomical offer too hard to refuse.

As for Calvert-Lewin himself, it remains to be seen if he would be willing to give up on the Premier League at this relatively early stage in his career.

Calvert-Lewin has been plagued with injuries in recent seasons. Now, though, he is finally fit and firing again. So far this season, the 11-cap England international has bagged three goals in seven appearances across all competitions.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin still belongs at Everton

Whilst his relationship with the Goodison Park faithful has been strained at times, Calvert-Lewin has made it clear that he loves the club. It seems unlikely that the £100,000-a-week ace will be willing to say goodbye any time soon, especially as he is on the verge of getting back to his best and will be excited by the prospect of playing in the Toffees’ new stadium next season.

Sean Dyche certainly won’t want to let Calvert-Lewin go. His side have struggled to consistently impress as an attacking unit throughout his reign. Calvert-Lewin can take this Everton team to the next level in the final third.

A move to Saudi Arabia for Calvert-Lewin cannot be ruled out definitively at this stage. Plenty of Premier League stars with plenty of years in the game left ahead of them have made the switch. However, this doesn’t seem like a possibility that Everton fans ought to be overly worried about.
