Everton made it two wins in a row as Burnley were put to the sword on Tuesday night.
David Moyes ended a run of seven games in all competitions without a win at the Hill Dickinson Stadium as the Toffees recorded a 2-0 victory, thanks to goals from James Tarkowski and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.
Scott Parker was on the receiving end as Everton moved up to 43 points and maintained their position of eighth in the Premier League, but the Burnley boss was gracious in defeat.

Scott Parker admits “there was a clear winner” as “very good” Everton praised
Parker – who Moyes once wanted to sign – saw Wolves creep up to within just three points of his Burnley side on Tuesday night after Rob Edwards managed to defeat Liverpool by two goals to one at Molineux, meaning the Clarets are now in real danger of actually finishing bottom this season.
Nevertheless, the 45-year-old held his hands up and was sporting enough to admit that Everton absolutely outplayed his side, admitting “there was a clear winner” on Merseyside.
Parker told BBC Sport: “We fell short tonight. We fell short in many ways really and many things going through my mind. We lacked quality with the ball. We couldn’t impose ourselves. We weren’t a threat playing against a very good side.
“We fell short in many, many factors. There’s not one thing I could say, there weren’t any fine margins. There was a clear winner and it was Everton.”
Everton now sit just five points off Liverpool, who remain in fifth place after losing to Wolves – a position which may even be enough to qualify for the UEFA Champions League given how well English clubs are faring in European competitions this term.

Moyes watched his side dominate the Clarets, recording 58% possession, 12 shots – five of which were on target – and 544 passes compared to Burnley’s total of four shots (two on target) and 470 passes.
