Everton manager Sean Dyche has highlighted one major quality which helped his side triumph against Bournemouth.
On Saturday, Everton recorded their first Premier League victory at Goodison Park of the season so far. The Merseyside club eased to a 3-0 win against Bournemouth.
The Cherries were particularly poor in this match. However, Everton still deserve credit for dispatching their opponents in such a convincing manner.
The Toffees have often struggled to take their chances in front of goal this season. They had no such issues against the south coast club, as James Garner, Abdoulaye Doucoure, and Jack Harrison all got on the scoresheet.
Sean Dyche has now identified the key element that allowed his side to flourish against Bournemouth, which they have lacked all too often in the past.
As quoted by the club’s official website, the coach said, “a pleasing thing for me was the calmness of the players to take the game on again. Questions get asked when you create so many matches but don’t score. So I’m glad the team stayed calm, delivered another very good performance and of course, got the goals to reward the fans.”

Tough challenges ahead for Everton
Calmness is such an important aspect of goalscoring. Without the requisite composure, presentable chances will routinely go to waste. Everton now need to demonstrate that they can show this calmness on a consistent basis, and against tougher opponents.
After the international break, the Toffees face a run of Premier League fixtures which will see them take on bitter local rivals Liverpool, West Ham United, Brighton, Crystal Palace, and Manchester United.
This is a tough set of fixtures, and Everton are unlikely to find any of these opponents as easy to face as Bournemouth proved to be. Chances will be harder to come by, and therefore it is all the more important that they are efficiently capitalised upon.
Dyche can’t afford for his side to struggle through this period without picking up any points. That calmness will need to be regularly on show throughout the run. Without it, his side will likely undo all the good work they’ve done in recent weeks which has seen them get their season up and running after a dreadful start.
