Sean Dyche has given the full run-down on Everton’s selection concerns ahead of Saturday evening’s game against Burnley.

Everton have several players who are concerns ahead of Saturday evening’s trip to Turf Moor. Sean Dyche returns to his old stomping ground for the first time, but annoyingly he will do so with multiple players missing.

Through suspension, fitness and other reasons there were as many as nine players that Dyche felt he needed to share an update on while speaking with press on Thursday.

The good news for Dyche is that most of the main group who have been pivotal in Everton’s rise up the table, remain available here. But there are still some names absent who will be sore misses for the Goodison Park side.

So here is the full list of players Dyche mentioned in his update on the squad’s status.

Sean Dyche drops update on Everton squad

Dyche was speaking to the press and was asked to give an update on who’s missing for this Saturday.

He began by reminding everyone of the two suspensions Everton will need to deal with this weekend: “Right, so suspensions Gana [Gueye] and Jarrad [Branthwaite].”

Gueye will be a sore one to miss, but Branthwaite will be who Everton are missing most given how brilliant he has been, although the perfect replacement is already there.

Continuing, Dyche ran through seven first-team players who either are concerns or were concerns for this weekend.

“Injuries, [Ashley Young] Youngy [is out], and Seamus [Coleman] won’t be right for this one, but we are hoping for a quick recovery from the two. Em [Michael Keane] Keano has trained today so if there’s no reaction he’d be back in the thinking.

“[Vitaliy Mykolenko] had quite a bit of a niggle but I think he’ll be okay. [Dominic Calvert-Lewin] Dom’s fine, I’m trying to think who else, we’ve got a few. Dele’s [Alli] still on the grass with us but just going back through the motions to get back involved and Andre’s [Gomes] been training with us for a few weeks now, he needs 90 minutes, we’re hoping he gets that tomorrow.”

Everton are favourites against Burnley despite absentees

Despite this long list of players who are out, Everton still will have a lot of quality available to select from on Saturday.

Burnley are joint bottom of the league and Everton are looking to continue their sublime form which would become four consecutive wins here with three points.

Dyche will be keen to show Burnley that they made a mistake and therefore this should be a fairly comfortable three points for The Toffees despite all their absences.
