Everton had a number of players put in impressive performance against Newcastle, with one player in particular catching the eyes of Sean Dyche.
The Toffees are certainly heading in the right direction after a rough start to the season, as that’s now two games unbeaten in the Premier League.
Sean Dyche is finally getting a tune out of his players. It was Dwight McNeil who delivered the goods last time out against Crystal Palace, and it was the defenders who really stood up this time round.
However, it wasn’t without its controversy as Dominic Calvert-Lewin was unlucky not to be awarded a penalty after Dan Burn brought him down in the penalty area.
Everton shouldn’t let that take away from some of the impressive individual performances across the pitch.
One player in particular impressed Sean Dyche, who came out and praised him after the game.

The likes of Ashley Young, James Tarkowski and Michael Keane were all defensive stalwarts at the back for the Toffees in what was a solid display.
Iliman Ndiaye continued to impress after his hero performance against Crystal Palace last time out, winning a number of duels and constantly starting attacks from deep.
However, it was a player playing out of position who earned the praise of Sean Dyche.

The Everton boss was quick to praise James Garner after the game (as per BeanymanSports).
“Yeah he done terrific. I thought he did really well at Leicester, we know he can operate there but I thought today was really good.
“You know, he looked like a player who has played there a lot, but he hasn’t, and his energy looks like it’s coming back. He just couldn’t quite find that edge to himself, but he’s looking good and stronger.”
James Garner’s Everton stats vs Newcastle
James Garner played the full game for Everton.
He had 50 touches, a passing accuracy of 72%, eight duels won, five tackles won, two interceptions, two clearances and completed both of his two attempted dribbles.
It’s not easy to slot into right-back when you’re used to playing in the middle of midfield, but James Garner has done it seamlessly after being tasked by Sean Dyche.
