Everton picked up their first point of the season on Saturday as they drew 1-1 to Leicester City at King Power Stadium.

The Toffees moved off the foot of the table with Wolves dropping below them after their defeat to West Midlands rivals Aston Villa.

It was a battling away performance by Sean Dyche’s men, though, having led for a large portion of the clash, they will have left disappointed, once again.

Speaking post-match, Dyche revealed that one player is actually playing way more minutes than he anticipated.

Sean Dyche says Iliman Ndiaye is playing way more than he expected

Dyche, speaking to BBC Sport, revealed that the goalscorer Iliman Ndiaye is actually playing more than he even expected.

“Really pleased,” the 53-year-old said.

“He ran out of steam a bit towards the end of the game but he has played more football than we were expecting him to at this stage.

“For the goal it was great play from Ashley Young to put in the ball and a great touch and finish from Illiman.”

Ndiaye was a constant thorn in Leicester’s defence and looked the most likely attacker to add a second – which would’ve killed the game.

Iliman Ndiaye statistics

Here are Ndiaye’s statistics, as per Sofascore.

The 24-year-old, who’s been labelled ‘talented’ per Jacek Kulig, has already made seven appearances for Everton since his switch from Marseille in the summer.

Ndiaye’s made five consecutive starts and is becoming a real talisman for Dyche’s men.
