Sean Dyche has admitted that certain habits his Everton team have displayed so far this season frustrate him.
Everton have a habit of dropping points in matches where they create plenty of chances but fail to find the back of the net. Sean Dyche is aware that this pattern of behaviour needs to change.
Everton were beaten yet again on Saturday, when Luton Town secured a 2-1 win at Goodison Park. The game was another occasion when Everton ought to have secured a draw at the very least, given the chances they had to score, but ultimately spurned.
Putting the Toffees’ defensive issues to one side, Dyche’s side need to become more clinical in front of goal. Striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin has hit some form in recent weeks, but the likes of Beto, Dwight McNeil, Arnaut Danjuma, and James Garner, amongst others, have all failed to convert presentable opportunities.
If Everton aren’t able to find some consistent cutting edge soon then they will be in for an extremely difficult campaign, and Dyche may find that his job comes under serious threat.

Dyche publicly airs frustations
Speaking to the club’s official website after the Luton game, Dyche said it “was a great opportunity to step on and play with the shoulders back and confidence. The crowd were amazing. The crowd were waiting, they are going, ‘Go on then lads.’ But then we just go a bit flat, a bit toothless, what’s that all about? It drives me mad, to be perfectly honest. But Bournemouth is another opportunity to change the story.”
The Merseyside outfit need a positive result against Bournemouth. However, the Cherries are equally desperate for a boost. Andoni Iraola’s side are yet to taste victory this season, and he has players in his squad with the capacity to hurt Everton.
The Toffees will need to be solid at the back and take their chances when they come. Another failure to impress in front of the Goodison Park faithful would be disastrous for Dyche. He needs to find a way of inspiring his team when it comes to performing at their own stadium. Everton have lost every Premier League game they have played at home so far this season.
