Everton’s first win of the summer provided the travelling fans with something to cheer on Saturday afternoon.
Sean Dyche‘s side were able to secure an emphatic 3-0 victory over Preston North End at Deepdale which saw some impressive displays.
However, that victory has come at a price with the Everton manager sharing some frustrating injury news after the game.
Youssef Chermiti was absent from the game and it has now been confirmed the extent of his injury has now been shared by Dyche.
It really looked like the 20-year-old was set to make a claim for a role in the Dyche’s side this season but that may have just been taken away from him.
After such a positive day for the Toffees, this is not the news the fans will have wanted to hear.

Sean Dyche shares Youssef Chermiti injury update
What a day it had been for those traveling fans who got to see some of their new signings really make an impression.
Both Jake O’Brien and Jesper Lindstrom were able to get their names on the scoresheet on their debut.
But as all Everton fans will know, there is always something lurking when things seem too good to be true.
And that has proven to be the case as Dyche provided an update on Chermiti’s injury latest after the game at Deepdale.
After the game, Dyche admitted that Chermiti is going to miss a bit of time following the injury he picked up an issue recently.
“Youssef has one which will take a while. We’re a bit disappointed in that,” Dyche said.
“He was going well in pre-season and that’s not going to be a short one, not by the looks of things. Jimmy [Garner], less so.”
Youssef Chermiti had really impressed Everton this summer
Now this will be a frustrating one for Dyche who even admitted himself just how impressed he had been with the Portuguese forward.
Chermiti netted twice in the game against Sligo Rovers to claw back a draw in what was a thrilling 3-3 clash over in Ireland.
However, it looks like his hopes of impressing Dyche ahead of the new season are now over with this injury expected to take a while to recover from.
