Sean Dyche tipped to make huge Michael Keane contract decision at Everton

Everton, in the upcoming summer, will have grand ambitions of completely revolutionising the club.

After all, with so many contracts expiring, a new stadium just around the corner, and a fresh ownership with their own ideals and fortune, things are looking up at last.

The opportunity is there to usher in a new, brighter era on Merseyside, but Dan Friedkin needs to get it right.

Seemingly they have already made their mind up on the futures of a few first-team players, including Michael Keane.

Everton’s plans for expiring contracts

Speaking exclusively to Everton.News, reporter Graeme Bailey was keen to provide a much-needed update on the contract situation going on around Goodison Park.

And whilst Sean Dyche and Kevin Thelwell’s future remains shrouded in mystery, this journalist thinks three players in particular already have sealed fates.

He stated: ‘Obviously Kevin Thelwell is running things upstairs at the moment.

‘I think Ashley Young and Seamus Coleman will go at the end of the season. They’ll see it then. There’s going to be a new manager in place. It depends who comes in, but I’d be surprised if they came in and offered them a new deal.

‘On Keane… I imagine Everton hope where they’re going they’re going to seek improvement on Michael Keane. He’s on decent money as well there.

‘I’m not sure they’ll be desperate to sit down with him anytime soon. I think they may have loftier aspirations than Keane, Young and Coleman.

‘I’d be surprised if those three are still around.’

Dan Friedkin will want to usher in a brighter era at Everton

Whilst Coleman is a certified legend of this club, and thus far both Keane and Young have been mainstays in the first-team this season, as Bailey eludes to, Friedkin will have greater ambitions.

He will not be purchasing this Premier League club just to continue wading about the bottom of the table.

Instead, his aspirations will be much loftier, and therefore this trio are unlikely to play any significant role.

And that is no slight on them as players.

Young, at 39 years old, has actually been one of Everton’s most consistent players this campaign, whilst Keane has enjoyed a fine return to form after a turbulent career on Merseyside.

But Coleman, for all his fans around the club, simply cannot stay fit, and has needed a long-term successor for years now. Fortunately, Nathan Patterson is back in contention for Everton now, as one option in that area.

Hopefully, this summer can see all three of these players replaced by the Friedkin Group, thus ushering in a brighter era.
