Everton take on Wolves this afternoon at Goodison Park and pundit Paul Merson has now predicted which of the two teams will come out on top.
Indeed, Merson insists this game ‘should be a cracker’ with both sides in desperate need of points to kick-start their Premier League campaigns.
Everton and Wolves are yet to pick up a point this season, but Merson believes that the Toffees will collect all three against the visitors this afternoon.

Writing in his weekly column in Sportskeeda, Merson predicts a 1-0 win for the Blues, stating: “This is a huge game. I wasn’t shocked by Everton’s result against Aston Villa. Dominic Calvert-Lewin is injured again, and I don’t know how Everton can score a goal.
They’re good at set-pieces, but their forwards struggled to score goals for them last season. If both teams play the way they did in their first games of the season, this one should be a cracker. I think the odd goal could win this game.”
Everton and Wolves both have a lot to prove in must-win fixture
Sean Dyche will be without some key players ahead of this crucial fixture, with last season’s top scorer Dwight McNeil still unavailable.
MORE EVERTON STORIES
The Everton boss also confirmed in Thursday’s press conference that forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin and midfielder Alex Iwobi will miss the fixture through injury.

With both sides currently occupying the bottom three, this is an opportunity for Everton to condemn Wolves to a third straight defeat and get three points on the board.
However, no doubt the visitors will also see this fixture as an opportunity to get their season going, so it could be a tense afternoon at Goodison Park.
With no striker of note to speak of, it is difficult to see where the goals will come from for the Toffees, who are yet to score this season.
