Everton midfielder Jean-Philippe Gbamin has suffered another injury blow according to a report by the Athletic.
Gbamin made his first Toffees appearance for 19 months in the 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace.
It was hoped that marked the beginning of a gradual return to full fitness but he has apparently suffered another setback.
The report claims he has suffered a ‘freak’ injury, unrelated to the quad and Achilles problems which kept him out for so long before.
The report claims that he might not play again this season – although that is still up in the air.
Either way, it’s rotten luck for Gbamin, who was due a break after such a tough start to his time at Goodison Park.
There was plenty of sympathy for the midfielder among the fanbase who just want to see him fit and well again.
