Everton winger Jack Harrison has now been named in Garth Crooks’ Team of the Week after the 26-year-old’s superb display at the weekend.

Indeed, scoring a ‘spectacular’ goal, Harrison helped Everton secure a 3-0 win over the Cherries, and Garth Crooks insists he will be a ‘good addition’ to Sean Dyche’s squad.

Harrison joined the Blues on a season-long loan from Leeds United but missed the opening weeks of the campaign through injury.

However, the 26-year-old has quickly adapted to life at Everton since his recovery and is a player that the Goodison crowd can get excited about, a sentiment echoed by Crooks.

Writing in his weekly BBC Sport column, Crooks said: “The goal by Jack Harrison was spectacular, but I can’t understand why Bournemouth’s goalkeeper Neto selected to punch the previous delivery into the box when it was infinitely easier to catch it.

By Neto keeping the ball alive it presented Harrison with the opportunity to score. Harrison is a good addition to the Everton squad, but having observed him when he played for Leeds I don’t think 10 goals a season is too much to ask for a player of his ability.

Harrison is now amongst players and an Everton crowd that might bring the best out of him. After the debacle against Luton, Everton, and in particular Sean Dyche, desperately needed the victory.”

Everton fans rewarded with Harrison showstopper after poor start to home form

The 3-0 win over Bournemouth was Everton’s first in front of their home fans this season and was a cathartic victory following last week’s disappointing defeat to Luton Town.

Indeed, with a win and a much-improved performance, Everton also kept their first clean sheet of the season and can head into the international break with a solid display under the belt.

Jack Harrison’s goal was indeed ‘spectacular’, and hopefully there is plenty more to come from the 26-year-old.
