July is now upon us and Everton are expected to be very busy now that the new financial year has begun.
Everton are in talks to sign Thierno Barry from Villarreal, so that deal looks like it could go through over the next week.
David Moyes is also keen to add a midfielder, with Orel Mangala and Abdoulaye Doucoure having left at the end of the season.
Leicester City’s Wilfred Ndidi is on Moyes’ radar, however, there is significant interest in his signature, with Manchester United and Real Betis circling.
Now, there has just been an official announcement by Everton, and fans are absolutely delighted.
Jarrad Branthwaite extends Everton contract
Jarrad Branthwaite is widely regarded as one of the best young centre-backs in Europe, such is why there are a number of top clubs interested, including Manchester City, Chelsea and Manchester United.
It was reported in March that Branthwaite was looking to leave for a Champions League club, having failed to make Thomas Tuchel’s England squad.
But, a few months on from that revelation, Moyes and his chiefs have managed to tie the 22-year-old down to a new contract.
Everton have announced that Branthwaite has extended his deal until 2030.
