Everton are heading into the busy festive period with plenty of momentum, having won four of their last five Premier League games.

David Moyes’ side beat Nottingham Forest convincingly at the weekend, and looked like a side genuinely capable of challenging for Europe.

Moyes admitted Europe is an ambition after the game, although he reckons his side aren’t quite good enough at the moment.

Everton will certainly have a much bigger test against Chelsea on Saturday afternoon, with Enzo Maresca’s side sitting in fifth place.

Are you expecting Everton to make it five wins from six on Saturday? 🤩

Supercomputer has Chelsea as the clear winners vs Everton

Chelsea have been on a poor run of form, having failed to win in any of their last four games across all competitions.

Maresca’s side have shown vulnerability at the back, but despite that, the supercomputer has made them big favourites to beat Everton.

The software reckons Chelsea have a 56.8% chance of winning, with a draw at 22.4% and a Toffees victory at just 20.8%.

So, the data clearly suggests the home side are outgunning the visitors in pretty much every department, surprisingly.

Everton can go above Chelsea with a win

This will be a real marker to see exactly where Everton are at, as Chelsea are a Champions League-level side.

Iliman Ndiaye and Idrissa Gana Gueye will be playing their final game before departing for the Africa Cup of Nations.

If the Toffees were to go and win at Stamford Bridge, they’d actually move above them in the Premier League table.

That would certainly change the feeling around Finch Farm, with many perhaps dreaming of a Champions League finish, rather than a Conference League spot.

Indeed, the Toffees would still need investment in the January transfer window, with a striker a top priority for Moyes.
