Everton have rarely had instances of Premier League games being postponed in the competition’s 33-year history, but there have been a few cases.
The more years that Everton spend in the top-flight, the more chance there is of a Premier League game being cancelled, with some happening as recently as last season.
Notably, last season’s Merseyside derby vs Liverpool was called off due to Storm Darragh, and there were plenty of instances due to Covid-19 with four being postponed in the 2021-22 season under Rafa Benitez.
However, there was a game cancelled on Boxing Day due to poor weather – leaving fans who were over for Christmas cheer stranded.

Everton had a Premier League game postponed during the Christmas period in 2010
Back in the 2010-11 Premier League season, Everton were preparing to take on Birmingham City at Goodison Park. It had been an uncharacteristically poor start to the season for the Toffees under David Moyes, having taken just 21 points from 18 games.
Lingering just five points clear of relegation danger, they were scheduled to host fellow relegation battlers Birmingham City, who would have leapfrogged the Toffees via a win with a margin of two goals or more.
However, bitter weather overnight caused sub-zero temperatures on Merseyside, freezing all of the pipes supplying Goodison Park.

The Merseyside relic was deemed ‘unfit’ to play at, leaving the game to be rescheduled for two weeks later in mid-January.
It wasn’t the only game called off in the league. Rivals Liverpool were forced to call their game off at Blackpool with temperatures of minus nine degrees ravaging west Lancashire.
Everton ended up drawing their rescheduled game despite a solid run of form
The game actually didn’t take place until March 9. Everton were fresh off the back of a 2-1 win at Newcastle, having since gone into the top half of the divison.
Birmingham, meanwhile, occupied the bottom three, though a draw would be enough to see them escape for the time being.
That they did. Jean Beausejour opened the scoring in the first half, but Johnny Heitinga equalised just after the half hour mark to send the Toffees ninth.
Eventually, Everton finished seventh, while Birmingham City were relegated to the Championship on the final day of the season
Fans obviously won’t have any Boxing Day football plans this year, but the hopes will be that they can beat Burnley to remain in the hunt for a European place.
