Everton fans may have already started the celebrations following Friday’s takeover development, but they may now have put those celebrations on ice.

It’s been well over one year since Farhad Moshiri embarked on his mission to sell Everton with numerous parties coming and going in that time.

However, it finally looks as if The Friedkin Group are set to take over Everton with the American billionaire set to be in place by the end of the year.

After what has been a seriously underwhelming opening few months of the season, it finally looks like Everton fans have something to cheer.

On Friday morning, it was claimed The Friedkins had received Premier League approval, but there may still be one more hurdle to overcome.

Everton awaiting final Premier League takeover approval

According to journalist Ben Jacobs, The Friedkin Group are now just waiting on the Premier League’s Independent Oversight Panel approval.

‘The Friedkin Group are hoping for all #EFC approvals to be in place next week. Optimism all is track. Understand there are no issues or red flags, but the Premier League’s Independent Oversight Panel has NOT yet approved the deal,’ he said on X.

‘All Premier League approvals need to be in place before the group announce completion.’

The Friedkin Group have operated professionally as they have done all they can to get their deal for Everton over the line.

And it now seems it is just a matter of time until the Blues are able to welcome their new owners to Goodison.

Everton fans don’t need to worry over takeover approval

So, it looks as if there are no reasons to be worried for Everton fans with no real issues or red flags to speak of, but that won’t stop nails from being bitten over the next week.

The takeover will signal the start of a new era under The Friedkin Group, finally putting an end to Moshiri’s reign as Everton owner.

However, it won’t be easy for the new owners as there’s a lot to sort out.

Dyche’s future has been a topic of conversation and it was claimed that Moshiri still had faith in him, but there have been suggestions David Moyes being lined up to replace Dyche, so we will wait and see.

Avoiding relegation is the main thing for The Friedkin Group ahead of the new stadium, and that looks on course at the moment.
