Former Everton player Isaac Price has now said he made the right decision to leave Everton.

The ‘outstanding’ 20-year-old insists that he made ‘the right move’ to leave Goodison Park after 13 years with the club.

Price joined Everton’s academy in 2010 at the age of seven but signed for Belgian side Standard Liege during the summer and says that he has no regrets over the decision to leave.

Speaking with BBC Sport, Price stated: “I feel like I was edging towards a move at the end as I wasn’t getting much of a first-team opportunity at Everton, so I feel like it was the right move.

I’m getting even more of an opportunity here [with Northern Ireland] and getting to play in front of the fans here is just as good as it is at my club.

I love coming here, there’s that familiarity with the people and the players I’ve been with before.”

Everton letting Price go was best decision for player and club

The 20-year-old midfielder made his debut for the Toffees in March 2022 in a 2-0 FA Cup win over Boreham Wood at Goodison Park.

The youngster then made his Premier League debut on the final day of the 2021/22 season away to Arsenal, but ultimately found opportunities limited at the Blues.

However, Isaac Price is making the most of his new opportunity in Belgium, scoring a 90th minute winner for Standard Liege in a 2-1 win against Club Brugge.

Indeed, his dramatic winner at the Maurice Dufrasne Stadium came just weeks after his first international strike for Northern Ireland in a 4-2 defeat to Slovenia.

The youngster clearly has potential and seems to be developing well in the Belgian Pro League, though hopefully allowing Price to leave Goodison Park doesn’t come back to haunt the Toffees.
