Under Sean Dyche’s leadership, Everton have actually made marked and tangible progress as a team.
So, given their well-documented financial restraints, it would make sense for them to avoid delving into the transfer market when possible, especially after the window they have just enjoyed.
Allowing Kevin Thelwell to bolster key areas with fine additions, he has played a huge role in this resurgence.
What will make things even better is that, within their current squad, there are a number of stars who are yet to truly make their mark on the team too.
Andre Gomes is one such example, who is nearing a recovery, but perhaps an even more forgotten name is Dele Alli, who too has made great strides towards a return to fitness.

The latest on his comeback has been detailed by The Times, in which they write: ‘Dele Alli is closing in on a return to full training at Everton as he looks to relaunch his stalled career.
‘The midfielder underwent surgery on a thigh issue at the end of last season but aggravated the injury just as he was about to rejoin Sean Dyche’s first-team squad in the summer.
‘He is now expected to take a big step forward in his recovery over the next ten days that would involve him joining the first part of training with his team-mates, before slowly increasing his participation.’
How good was Dele Alli?
Having moved from Tottenham Hotspur during January 2022, calling time on a hugely successful period that had sadly dwindled out, many hoped the Englishman might be set to recapture his form of old at Goodison Park.
However, things have only gotten worse for the 27-year-old, who has suffered through addiction and injury, revealing all to Gary Neville whilst speaking on The Overlap.
His return will be a triumphant one, and a fully fit and mentally strong Dele could prove devastating for the rest of the Premier League, and like a new signing for Dyche.

After all, few have forgotten the speed with which he burst onto the scene in north London, scoring ten and assisting nine in the league in just his first year after leaving MK Dons, before posting a career-best 35 goal contributions the following campaign across all competitions.
The £100k-per-week maestro is certain to improve Everton’s squad when he becomes an option, and it could even see some stars sweat over their starting spots.
