The unseen reason why Everton players much prefer the new stadium to Goodison Park

The Hill Dickinson Stadium has been a roaring success for Everton and the best part about it will be a mystery to the large majority of fans.

Since making the move across to the docks, Everton have only tasted one defeat in their new stadium, which came against Tottenham Hotspur.

Through moving to the Hill Dickinson Stadium, Everton have opened up a lot of new avenues to transform their revenue streams.

Everton’s new stadium will host games at Euro 2028, in what feels like a seismic move in the right direction for the club.

However, improving the club’s finances will not be at the top of the players’ minds when it comes to their time spent in the new ground.

But there is something at the Hill Dickinson which has really set the club’s new home apart from Goodison Park for the players.

Everton players wowed by something specific at the Hill Dickinson Stadium

Jamie O’Hara ripped into Everton’s new stadium as a poor copy of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The Everton players will not be too fussed about what O’Hara has to say as the Toffees boast a much better home record than Spurs this season.

Speaking on A View From The Bullens podcast, club insider The Bobble has admitted he has heard that players have loved the extra room on offer in the new stadium’s changing room.

“A lot of questions about how the players feel about the new stadium.

“I don’t know if you’ve spoken to anyone, in the first team or the players or anything, but I get told a lot that the players actually prefer the new ground, not because of the atmosphere, it’s the things we don’t see, the dressing rooms are bigger, the canteen is bigger, there’s a massive coffee station. The kit room is bigger, the medical room isn’t crammed.”

Andy Burnham thinks Everton’s new stadium is actually better than Tottenham’s as it produces a significantly better atmosphere than that in north London.

One thing that cannot be argued is the start to the season Everton have made at home, with the players taking very little time to get used to their new surroundings.

Everton’s Hill Dickinson Stadium has changed the game

Liverpool City Council continue to make improvements around Everton’s stadium following feedback from match-going fans.

Clearly, not everything was going to be perfect from the outset, but plans are being put in place to rectify the issues.

The Hill Dickinson Stadium has transformed Everton’s revenue streams as the club have already agreed some huge deals like the naming rights.

But there are also other advantages like being able to host rugby fixtures as they did just the other week.

This stadium is offering Everton so much more than just a new home for their team to play.

And after being named as a host venue for Euro 2028, there must be some jealousy coming from the red half of the city.
