Everton remain embroiled in a number of transfer sagas, as they seek to bolster a threadbare squad before the window slams shut.
However, whilst Kevin Thelwell seeks to balance his many inbound interests, he also has to contend with potential exits too.
Neal Maupay’s hotly-anticipated departure has just been announced, and this could kickstart a wave of sales before the end of the day.
One of the most polarising characters linked with an exit is Dominic Calvert-Lewin, with an update on his future now emerging.
Will Dominic Calvert-Lewin stay at Everton?
Despite earlier reports attesting that Chelsea wanted to sign Calvert-Lewin from Everton, this update from journalist Jacob Steinberg has the very latest on the matter.
And, ironically so, he refutes this claim.

Taking to X, he wrote: ‘Currently looking like Dominic Calvert-Lewin stays at Everton. Remains to be seen if he becomes an option for Chelsea if they miss out on Osimhen and Toney.’
Calvert-Lewin rejected a new Everton contract earlier this summer.
What does Dominic Calvert-Lewin offer to Everton?
It will be quite frustrating if Calvert-Lewin does stay at Goodison Park, only to leave on a free transfer last summer.
After all, it’s not as if he has not had his opportunities to leave Goodison Park throughout the window, with his inability to strike a deal with Newcastle United actually collapsing Everton’s move for Yankuba Minteh.
The Gambian then terrorised the Toffees on the opening day of the Premier League season, in typically ironic Everton fashion.

However, should he commit his long-term future to this club, as many are encouraging him to do, he could end his career as a hero on Merseyside.
After all, he is just 15 goals away from overtaking Romelu Lukaku as Everton’s all-time leading scorer in the Premier League. That is no mean feat.
Naturally, there have been calls for Beto to usurp Calvert-Lewin in recent weeks, but what the Englishman offers to Sean Dyche‘s side is unquantifiable.
There is arguably no striker in Europe as proficient in the air as him, and whilst his Portuguese counterpart might have more energy and unpredictability, the 27-year-old just knows how to make it stick.
Ideally, Everton will continue with both of these options, given the varied dynamic the duo offers.
