Everton have lost to Nottingham Forest in the Premier League, and Sean Dyche has just given his post-match thoughts.
Everton went back to losing ways, with goals from Chris Wood and Morgan Gibbs-White handing the visitors all three points.
Toffees fans were optimistic heading into this game.
The draws against Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City were fairly impressive, and some felt this game against Forest represented a decent chance for points.
But Forest were far superior in every department, and Everton were unable to break the Reds down.
Sean Dyche has just spoken to the media after the game, and has made a claim that will not go down well at all.
Dyche claims Everton players ‘did the opposite’ of what he asked vs Nottingham Forest

Against Forest, Everton just couldn’t really get at Forest, who were very well organised.
Not for the first time this season, they were very resolute at the back with Nikola Milenkovic really impressive.
Despite Dyche handing Armando Broja his first Premier League start, the Albanian didn’t get any real joy all afternoon, and there was another poor showing from Jack Harrison before he was taken off at half-time.
Iliman Ndiaye was lively at times but, it was just a performance that Everton fans have seen far too often.
Alarmingly, Dyche said after the game that the players actually ‘did the opposite’ of what he told them to do.
As quoted by journalist Tony Scott, he said: “The players did the opposite of what I asked them in the first-half which is frustrating as a coach.”
Dyche could be losing the Everton dressing room
It is always a concern when a manager talks publicly about players not carrying out instructions.
Often, it is better to keep things like this in-house.
It’s possible that some players in the squad won’t take kindly to being called out publicly like this.
| Position | Team | Played MP | Won W | Drawn D | Lost L | For GF | Against GA | Diff GD | Points Pts |
| 15 | 17 | 3 | 8 | 6 | 15 | 22 | -7 | 17 |
Today’s performance against Forest was pitiful and the buck ultimately stops with the manager.
Supposedly, The Friedkin Group will back Dyche. But the new owners will have a decision to make if there are similar performances like this in the coming weeks, and similar observations from the manager made publicly.
