Clinton Morrison has revealed exactly what he thinks Everton need to stay up this season.

Speaking to Premier League Productions, the former striker claimed that the Toffees ‘would be alright’ if they can keep Arnaut Danjuma, Beto and Dominic Calvert-Lewin fit.

Despite a horrific start to the campaign that has seen Everton take one point from their opening four matches, things are looking more positive following the arrival of Beto and the return of a number of key players from injury.

The former Udinese attacker has shown a lot of promise after scoring his first goal on his debut in the Carabao Cup, while Danjuma didn’t take long at all to settle in at Goodison Park.

The Dutchman has been one of a few exciting sparks for Everton this season, netting his first goal for the club as he equalised against Sheffield United last time out.

Meanwhile, Everton will also be glad to welcome back Calvert-Lewin who has recovered from the facial injury he suffered in the 5-0 defeat to Aston Villa.

The three forwards provide some very strong options for Sean Dyche, who will be eager to see his team improve on the attack after an underwhelming 2022/23 campaign.

The trio could all start this weekend against Arsenal and Morrison has claimed they could be the difference between relegation and staying in the Premier League.

“If they get Danjuma scoring goals, they’ve got Beto and they’ve got Dominic Calvert-Lewin – they’ll be alright,” Morrison said.

“Keep them three fit and they have got goals in their team. They might concede at the other end but they’ll score goals and I think that’s been Everton’s biggest problem.

“They just need to get a settled side and get the injured players back in and they’ll be alright.”

Everton need to avoid more injuries if they are to stay up

Everton have struggled with a long list of injuries in the first month of the season with the likes of Seamus Coleman and Dele Alli facing lengthy spells out, while Dwight McNeil, Jack Harrison and Calvert-Lewin have all been absent.

However, the Toffees stars are gradually returning to action and the squad is looking significantly stronger following the international break.

Everton will definitely be relying a lot on DCL, Beto and Danjuma this season, with the latter two really impressing since joining the club. But it will be a huge relief that fans can take some pressure off Calvert-Lewin, who is desperate to finally recover from a flurry of injury problems and bad luck.
