Everton have finally heard the outcome of their Premier League appeal against their 10-point deduction.
The Toffees were initially found to have breached the league’s profit and sustainability rules in November 2023.
The board appealed the 10-point deduction, with the onus being on the sanction rather than the breach itself.

Now, on Monday, 26 February, the initial charge has been changed from 10 to six points, meaning Everton have been awarded four additional points.
The verdict means the Toffees’ tally will now read 25 points and move them up two places to 15th in the standings.
Talking on Sky Sports Monday Night Football, Gary Neville has shared his thoughts on Monday’s ruling.
Gary Neville reacts to Everton appeal verdict
Neville feels that Everton will have more than enough to avoid a nervy end to the season.
“It gives them a little bit of relief that, Everton. They have a stadium coming next year; they can’t afford to go down,” he said.
“I’ve not read the ruling yet, so I’ve not seen the detail of why it’s gone from 10 to six. There was a feeling that it would be reduced, and it has been.
“Everton fans will feel vindicated. Everton will be okay now, I think, they probably would have been anyway but they certainly would have been feeling the pressure, an extra four points will be big relief for them, but they still have a job to do.

“They still have to get 10 or 15 points to stay in this league.”
It’s important to remember that there is still another charge looming.
The club face another PSR complaint over breaching the assessment period running to the end of last season.
The complaint is expected to be concluded by 8 April, which could impact the current campaign.
It feels as if Everton have taken the brunt of the Premier League finally clamping down on financial fair play. It’s taken years, and only now are the authorities acting on a damaging issue throughout the English game.
After Everton’s verdict was reduced, all eyes now turn to Nottingham Forest and Manchester City. Forest have been charged along with Everton concerning last season.
As for City, the outcome could be a watershed moment for the Premier League.
