Everton need a big summer and a new striker is expected at Hill Dickinson Stadium.

After missing out on European football, fans are urging the club to show a bit of ambition and also ruthlessness in the next transfer window.

And the signing of a new striker will be somewhere near the top of the agenda.

If you were Angus Kinnear who would you be going all out for this summer? 💰

While Thierno Barry and Beto scored 17 Premier League goals between them in 2025/26, the feeling is that Everton need a ruthless number nine to reach the next level.

This year there have been links to the likes of Ivan Toney and Troy Parrott, with many fans getting behind those links.

But now, Everton are being linked with Tammy Abraham again.

Everton watching Tammy Abraham situation

According to TEAMtalk, Everton are now watching the situation with Tammy Abraham, who is said to be weighing up his options after struggling for minutes at Aston Villa.

Abraham joined Aston Villa in January for just over £18 million (via BBC Sport), returning to the club for a second spell.

But he only made 16 appearances for the club for less than 500 minutes.

He now finds himself at a bit of a crossroads.

Villa will play in the Champions League next season, and there is every chance they could seek to strengthen.

Villa are said not to have too strong a desire to offload Abraham given they only signed him earlier this year.

But the player wants regular football, which could force Villa’s hand. As well as Everton, there is interest from Sunderland and Leeds United.

Surely one of Thierno Barry or Beto leaves if Abraham signs

If Everton decide to push for Abraham, who the club have a long-standing interest in, then one has to wonder if that means Thierno Barry or Beto could be off.

Realistically, he is another tall, rangy striker and it would not make much sense for Everton to have a player of this profile in addition to Barry and Beto, who are already somewhat similar.

Barry got much more criticism than Beto in 2025/26 so he could be the one who makes way.

At times the Frenchman really struggled, so perhaps a loan move could be on the cards with Abraham to come in as his replacement
