Everton are reportedly showing interest in Jacob Murphy as David Moyes seeks to further bolster his squad.
After completing three deals recently, David Moyes is keen to keep the ball rolling, and Murphy is a new player on Everton’s shortlist.
Everton showing an interest in Jacob Murphy… does that inspire you Toffees fans? 🤔
The winger has just one year left on his contract at Newcastle United, suggesting a move this summer could be very possible.
Everton are yet to make a bid for the 31-year-old.
But one could arrive soon, and amid the interest, we take a look at some of the times Murphy has really stood out for the Magpies.
Murphy shines in EFL Cup final vs Liverpool
In May 2025, Newcastle did something Everton would very much like to do and won the FA Cup.
And Murphy was a big part of them claiming their first domestic trophy in 70 years.
Murphy had already scored in the club’s semi-final against Arsenal to get them into the final against Liverpool, and he then produced a performance full of heart and endeavour against the Reds.

With Newcastle 1-0 up, Murphy outjumped Andy Robertson and the ball fell to Alexander Isak to score to make it two.
This was a huge moment and Isak’s goal by Isak gave Liverpool too much to do, and their injury-time goal by Federico Chiesa was nothing more than a consolation.
6-1 demolition of Tottenham with Murphy at the double
In April 2023, Newcastle produced one of the performances and results of the season, as they thrashed Tottenham Hotspur at St. James’ Park.
The Magpies made one of the most explosive starts to a Premier League game in the history of the competition, scoring five goals in the first 21 minutes.
Spurs, under temporary manager Christian Stellini after the exit of Antonio Conte, were all over the show – and Murphy was particularly excellent.
In the opening minutes, Murphy was on hand to follow up a spilled shot after an attempt by Joelinton. He showed great composure to put the ball into the roof of the net.
Murphy then showed he could also score in spectacular fashion, lashing the ball home into the far corner from all of 30 yards. His own reaction to the goal did the rounds on social media and has since been used for a lot of internet memes.
Local outlet The Chronicle gave Murphy a 10/10 rating for his performance.
Murphy gives a top performance vs Crystal Palace amid injury crisis
Newcastle took on Crystal Palace in October 2023 and blew the Eagles away – and this was one of Murphy’s greatest performances in the black and white shirt.
Murphy again showed he has the sublime in his locker, beating Dean Henderson with a stunning looping volley.
Fabian Schar picked out Kieran Trippier with a lovely crossfield pass, with the defender cushioning the ball onto Murphy.

Under pressure from a Palace defender, Murphy took it first time, hoisting the ball over Henderson into the far corner. The moment just showed Murphy’s class and ingenuity.
And this wasn’t to be the last time Murphy scored a fine goal against Palace.
In April 2025, the star was on target again, lashing the ball home from a very tight angle when it looked for all the world as if he should cross it. Replays showed it was very deliberate, though, and Murphy rightly came in for huge praise again.
