It really does remain a mystery as to whether Everton will sign anybody before the transfer window ends at 5pm on Monday.
Another late bid has gone in as Everton try to take Youssef En-Nesyri on loan from Fenerbahce, but the Morocco international is said to be against a move to England due to the weather.
It could all hinge on whether The Friedkin Group can convince the African striker to change his mind, as developments elsewhere are not going in favour of Everton.
What should be Everton’s top priority before the deadline on Monday? 😬
The clock is ticking… ⏰
Everton set to miss out on Jhon Duran and Emil Holm
Everton have been linked to Jhon Duran and Emil Holm of Al-Nassr and Bologna respectively as David Moyes targets a new striker and a new right-back.
However, the duo now look set to move elsewhere.
The reliable Gianluca Di Marzio believes Duran is one step away from signing for Lille after Juventus decided against pursuing a move for the Colombia international.
Juventus are – however – advancing in talks to sign Holm ahead of Everton.
It was another reliable Italian journalist in Fabrizio Romano who claimed that Juventus are currently in negotiations with Bologna over a deal for the Sweden international, and could send Joao Mario the other way in a swap deal.
Another right-back target is moving away from Everton in Brooke Norton-Cuffy
Holm was not the only defender Everton had shortlisted, as the Toffees have also been in talks with Genoa over a deal for former Arsenal right-back Brooke Norton-Cuffy.
What players would you be happy to see Everton sell before Monday’s deadline? 👋
Late business is not being ruled out by Moyes 🤔
However, Romano has also provided an update on the England U21 international, claiming that Inter Milan are in advanced talks to sign the Londoner as they push to win the Serie A title this season.
It means The Friedkin Group must return to the drawing board if any new signings are to be made before the 5pm deadline on Monday, as three players Everton fans have spent the month reading about are on the verge of moving elsewhere.
